Snack Time (open to anyone who wants to join in)
Characters: James Potter, Touga
Content: Chocolate chip cookies, coming up!
Setting: "outside, near the fountains"
Time: afternoon
Warnings: none yet

Unlike the transition from 18 to 8, when Touga aged in the opposite direction, he could remember clearly everything that had transpired when he had been small.

Therefore, he remembered having promised James a chocolate chip cookie, and it amused him to deliver it.

Touga arrived outside not quite as James had first met him. His voice sounded nearly the same, but he was several inches shorter, and about four years younger.

Still, he wore a signature Touga smirk as he approached the English boy leaning against the fountain and proferred the bag of cookies and travel-sized jug of milk.

"Good afternoon, James."
Current Mood: amusedamused

James had been expecting to meet with an 8 year old, so when he saw Touga approaching with milk and cookies, he began to feel like he had just fallen for a rather stupid trick. Of course it was. People grew up, not down, though Touga wasn't quite as tall as James remembered.

"You aren't 8..." he replied, a scowl spread across his face. What on earth had made him think that Touga had been magically replaced by a little kid in the first place?

Because James wasn't taking them, Touga set the milk and cookies down on the edge of the fountain.

Then he folded his arms and turned back to smirk at his companion. "Sorry to disappoint you."
James Potter: uhh.. yeah?jamesypotter on May 31st, 2006 03:48 pm (UTC)
James eyed the food curiously. It looked pretty tasty, but he didn't quite trust Touga enough to take them. After all, he could have tampered with them in one way or another and James had no intention of finding out how.

"No need to apologize. Little kids have the uncanny ability to constantly get on my nerves," he sighed. "Then again, so do you."

"Interesting coincidence," Touga remarked, leaning against the fountain and shaking his hair back to gaze up at the sky.

"Have you and Sirius had that talk yet?" he asked casually, glancing at James from the corner of his eye.
James Potter: ohohohojamesypotter on June 1st, 2006 07:02 pm (UTC)
"No," he replied almost automatically, glaring at Touga. "I mean, I have nothing important to tell Sirius that would require a...'talk'."

A terribly concealed lie. James definitely had something important to say, though whether or not he wanted to disclose to Sirius that information was another matter. The last thing he wanted to do was to ruin his friendship with the boy; he wasn't so sure a talk was going to help much with his situation.

Touga chuckled at the awful lie. Who did James think he was fooling?

"Really?" Touga asked. "Because I doubt you're going to get anywhere with him unless you say something. In fact, your passive-aggressive secret-keeping seems to only be annoying him."

He glanced at the other boy frm the corner of hs eye and smirked.

"Well let him get annoyed, I'd rather that than saying something stupid and ruining our friendship."

Why did Touga even care about whether James spoke to Sirius or not? As far as James was concerned, whatever happened between him and Sirius was none of Touga's business and any advice seemed only to irritate James further.

"It's not like I'm the only person in the world who's ever kept secrets from people."

"It seems your friendship is under enough stress already with the secret you're keeping." Touga pushed away from the fountain and prepared to take his leave.

"Of course, it's your choice." He began to walk away.

"But I think Sirius would be happier with you than he was with me," he finished casually, still going, though his pace was transparently slow.
James Potter: uhh.. yeah?jamesypotter on June 6th, 2006 05:58 am (UTC)
"Wait. You really think so?"

Okay, this was new. The fact that Touga said Sirius was better off with James was ever so slightly encouraging, though James' wasn't quite sure if the other boy was just setting him up for disaster.

"Did Sirius say anything to you? Or is this just blind guessing?"

Touga stopped and smirked when the other boy called for him to wait. He'd known he would.

The redhead turned back to James. "He's said nothing to me. But I don't love him." Touga's smile was a cold one.

"Being his friend, and stupid enough to continue keeping this secret, I'm assuming you do."
James Potterjamesypotter on June 7th, 2006 05:15 pm (UTC)
"I could tell you never loved him."

To be fair, mostly of that was really due to his jealousy whenever Touga was with Sirius. Of course, James would never admit to something like that.

"Did... did Sirius ever say he loved you, I wonder? Sure, I... love Sirius but I'm sure he just thinks of me as a good friend and nothing more. What would I even say to him? I can't just go up to him and say: 'Hey Sirius, you may not have realized this but I've been secretly in love with you since 3rd year!'"

"I could tell you never loved him."

Touga resisted the urge to roll his eyes.

How melodramatic.

"Did... did Sirius ever say he loved you, I wonder?

"He did, in fact. On our first date." Touga smirked. "But virgins often mistake casual sex for love."

When James suddenly asked him for relationship advice, Touga shrugged. "You'll never know if you don't speak to him. How you do it is not my concern."
